Our Brand History

ProGlow Studio and GlowingOil were not created overnight. They are the result of more than a decade of continuous formulation, testing, rebranding and refinement. This is the story of how a small experimental serum evolved into a modern studio brand with a 13-year legacy in hyperpigmentation care.

2012–2013

Experimental Origins — GlowingOil.com

Our journey began in 2012 under the name GlowingOil.com. The first generation of GlowingOil serums, ranging from 5% to 20%, were created for one purpose: to finally offer a serum that worked on real hyperpigmentation. These early batches were produced in small quantities, continuously adjusted and refined based on performance.

This period defined our core identity: a maker-led, science-first brand driven by curiosity, independence and visible results.

2014

Breakout Years — GlowingOil + HydroGlow

As customer demand grew, the brand evolved. HydroGlow was introduced as a commercial expression of the original GlowingOil formula. The combination of the GlowingOil name with the HydroGlow Serum became one of our best performing brand identities, recognized for fast, noticeable transformation in skin tone and texture.

For the first time, our serum moved from being an underground favourite to a widely discussed product within skin lightening communities worldwide.

2017

Transition and Brand Evolution

During a period of rapid growth, the original GlowingOil.com website was closed and a brand transition became necessary. While this marked the end of one chapter, it did not end the formula or the community that had grown around it. Instead, it pushed the brand to evolve, reorganize and prepare for its next phase.

2017–2019

The Lab Era — SkinGlowLabs.com & HydroPro20X

After GlowingOil.com, the brand re-emerged as SkinGlowLabs.com. This era leaned into a more clinical, laboratory-inspired identity, emphasizing research, stability and formulation integrity.

Our flagship product became HydroPro20X, a technical successor to the original GlowingOil formulas. The focus was on precision, consistency and a more pharmaceutical-style presentation, while maintaining the performance our customers expected.

2019–2020

ProGlow Skincare & HydroPro-X

In 2019, a major rebrand unified our work under a new name: ProGlow Skincare. This phase introduced a cleaner visual identity, more structured branding and a long-term vision for the product line.

The flagship serum evolved into HydroPro-X, blending the heritage of GlowingOil and HydroPro20X with a more refined, premium presentation. This was the moment the brand began to feel less like a single product and more like a complete skincare house.

2020–2023

Quiet Years and Select Distribution

The global pandemic reshaped the beauty and skincare landscape. Production slowed, logistics changed and the brand entered a quieter phase with reduced public visibility. Despite this, loyal customers continued to seek out the formula through private channels and select distribution.

These years reinforced an important truth about our identity: even when the brand was quieter, demand for the results never disappeared.

2024–2025

ProGlow Studio & the Return of GlowingOil

In 2024, the brand stepped into its modern chapter as ProGlow Studio — a creator-led, formulation-focused skincare studio built on our original GlowingOil heritage.

The GlowingOil name returned in a more intentional way with two flagship serums:

  • GlowingOil Original — our updated legacy formula, inspired by the 2012–2017 Hydroquinone-based serums, refined with modern stability and safety standards.
  • GlowingOil Radiance — a Hydroquinone-free alternative powered by our Radiance Complex, designed for global regulatory alignment and for those who prefer non-HQ brightening options.

Today, ProGlow Studio represents the fusion of every stage of our evolution: the experimentation of GlowingOil.com, the commercial success of HydroGlow, the lab precision of SkinGlowLabs, the premium positioning of ProGlow Skincare and the creative, modern identity of ProGlow Studio.

Looking Forward

From 5–20% experimental serums to studio-grade patent-pending formulas, our mission has never changed: to develop professional products for a professional glow, rooted in science and proven on real skin over time.

ProGlow Studio continues to build on this 13-year legacy, evolving our formulas while staying true to the results that started it all.
